American Tanker Rate Schedule

The Tanker Committee of the Association is pleased to announce the introduction of a new edition of the American Tanker Rate Schedule - ATRS 2010 ~ 2011

A TWO-YEAR SCHEDULE

The American Tanker Rate Schedule is a publication with rates to remain in effect for two years.  Interim supplemental amendments will be issued during the two-year period and a list of supplemental rates determined during the period of the schedule that are issued in the next release.

ATRS incorporates the following prototype ship: a vessel representative of the tonnage that is now used, and that which is expected to reflect the most frequently used American Flag tanker in years to come.

The particulars of the vessel that will make up the Basis of Calculation are as follows:

  • Summer Deadweight:  46,069 LT
  • Summer draft laden in salt water:  40 feet
  • Gross Registered Tons:  30,415 LT
  • Net Registered Tons:  11,125 LT
  • LOA:  600 feet
  • Beam:  105 feet
  • Panama Canal Net Tonnage:  25,239 LT
  • Suez Canal Net Tonnage:  27, 569 LT
  • Average Service Speed:  14 Knots
  • Bunker consumption at Sea:  32 tons per day IFO 380
  • Bunker consumption in Port:  14 tons per day MDO
  • Allowance for stores/spare bunkers:  400 long tons
  • Daily Hire:  $18,000 per day

 

One bunker price will be used for every rate.  The price used will represent the average market price for IFO 380 and MDO at major ports in the USA during the month of September 2009.
